      I actually never thought of them like that. Although I know that some experiment use the lasers to recreate exploding stars, ours are actually meant to excite electrons in specific elements. Instead of aiming for specific powers, we aims rather for precise wavelengths (colours) and resolution.

      In that sense, we have a set of lasers that is very specific and that allows us to produce light all across the visible spectrum and even in the ultra-violet and infrared around it. The resolution we typically get is 20 MHz in the best case. For comparison, the difference between red and green is ~150,000,000 MHz.
