      Other than sleep? 🙂

I’m a pretty busy guy, with lots of interests – I like to read, play computer games (when I get the time – which isn’t much, these days). But I do set aside time for my other major interest – I train and teach a Chinese martial art – Wing Chun Kung Fu. I’m also learning how to use the sword – the European medieval kind – and that’s an awful lot of fun!

I love to knit & crochet. I always have some yarn with. I have got a project in my office (which I work on at lunch time, during conferences, seminars, meetings…) which has been ongoing for more than 3 years! Mind you it is a crochet bed cover, so it does take time! And I currently prepare lots of goodies my niece who is soon to be born.

I also like to sing in choirs. While I was in Geneva, I even joined an operetta company for a while and those performances were a lot of fun! It was a lot of preparation too and quite demanding. It was not always easy to balance my meetings and experiments with the tight rehearsal schedule!

My family is also very important to me. We are however scattered all over the place (California, France, Greece) and it takes quite a big part of my holidays just to get to see everybody. And that is without counting all my friends who’ve moved where the wind of science has taken them!
