Probably the best thing I’ve done for fun was a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. We flew from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Canyon) and landed next to the Colorado River for a picnic. Then we flew back to Vegas at sunset. It was an incredible view (I got to sit in the front!) and being in a helicopter was awesome! Our pilot was really great too and she explained some of the coded language the other pilots were using to let each other know where they are.

A very close second a third place goes to jumping out of an aeroplane for a sky dive and going scuba diving to see sharks!

I would have to go for diving in the Georgia Straight between Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Jean-Jacques Cousteau rated this the second best dive site on Earth after the coral reef because of how rich the wildlife is. My diving instructor was a top engineer from my nuclear lab there and she was fantastic too!

Other than that, standing on the everyone-can-hear-you spot in Chichen Itza (Mexico) was pretty awesome. How they managed to make a town that had such a spot is a true feature of intelligence and engineering! And, of course, I went to see the football field (where the goals are little hoops on heights on either side of the middle lane of the field… Really weird and really cool!)
